Nominations open for SFBACC board positions, general meeting March 31, 2011
Hello Bay Area Curlers,
This has been a very busy and productive year for our club with a large number of volunteers giving their time and energy to make it all work. I can't thank you all enough.
I would especially like to thank all the current members of the SFBACC board of directors for their hard work in the past year.
Brent Halpenny President firstname.lastname@example.org whose term expires March 2012.
Brian Zaitz Vice-President email@example.com who stepped up from his at-large position, fulfilling the term of Nikki Larrabure who's term is expiring.
Greg Wollenman Secretary/Treasurer firstname.lastname@example.org who has been an interim member since the fall, fulfilling the term of Matthew David (who also stepped in to help with a vacancy). As per club bylaws this position must now be filled by election.
At large members:
Thomas Vogelsang email@example.com whose term is expiring.
Mark Valade firstname.lastname@example.org who has been an interim member since June, fulfilling the term of Brian Zaitz which is expiring.
Davinna Ohlson email@example.com whose term expires March 2012.
Wes Seeger firstname.lastname@example.org whose term expires March 2012.
So we have the following positions open:
2 At Large Director seats need to be elected holding terms until March 2013.
Vice President which will expire in March 2013.
All positions are for 2 year terms. All positions are on a volunteer basis.
The secretary/treasurer position maintains financial books for the club, paying bills as necessary. Taxes, membership lists & payments, etc all fall into this category. Other club members have stepped in to help with some areas and outside help has been used as necessary.
All other positions are part of the overall team, dividing up the wide assortment of tasks the club has undertaken, including publicity, corporate events, lessons, leagues, competitive events, social activities and on and on. In many cases the board members are liaisons with the club members who have volunteered their time to run some of these activities.
The VP undertakes tasks in the same way other directors do but also has the responsibility to organize & run meetings or otherwise fulfill duties of the president in the absence of the president.
For more information please contact email@example.com or the board members themselves if you want more direct feedback.
Since 2006 the board has striven to keep a balance and input from new curlers, long time curlers, recreational and competitive curlers. We have also striven to balance input from the various curling sites - of which there are now three.

Please note we have been holding our votes electronically and details will be sent to all members by our returning officer. Also note that voting in person will be held the evening of March 31, 2011.
