From the USCA:
Please let your club members know that all curlers are invited to participate in an online USA Curling Webinar to learn more about opportunities for curlers to compete at the national level. Sam Williams, Chair of Grassroots Competitions, will discuss the growing number of championship events available to curlers across the country. He will also be able to answer your questions about recent developments in the rules. In addition, Shelley Dropkin, past president of the United States Women’s Curling Association, will discuss developmental programs offered by the USWCA. Some may be surprised to learn that several of these developmental programs are open to participants of both genders!
We had great turnout for our series of competitive curling meetings last week. For anyone who couldn't make it, below are the details of the events and deadlines discussed. Please note that the event information provided is subject to change. Please consult the USCA website, USCA rulebook, and websites referenced below for complete information.
The competitive curling season is upon us. Whether you are a new curler looking to expand your horizons or an experienced curler hoping to win gold, there is a tournament out there for you. We will be holding informational sessions in both Oakland and San Jose next week. No team? One teammate short? Stop by—there are always individuals looking to join up, and now is the time to connect.
Please join us on Sunday August 24 from 12-6pm for a summer BBQ! We'll be providing drink and food, and we've reserved a volleyball court and equipment for those of you itching to compete off the curling ice.
The site is a public park in San Mateo with easy access to public transit and it should be a PERFECT day on the peninsula. So come out and meet the new and long-time members from north and south with beer, burgers, and a perfect California day...
