Thank you to all who attended the 7/16 open board meeting in Fremont. It's great to see so many people interested in getting involved in club activities! In the upcoming weeks, there will be some preliminary organizational and brainstorming meetings for the 2010 bonspiel and season, so stay tuned for more details on that.
Here are a few highlights from last night's meeting:
The Granite Curling Club in Seattle, which hosts the MoPac Club and Mixed playdowns, has posted playdown dates on their web site. On rare occasions, these dates change, but for now they are:
MoPac Club Nationals Playdown: Sat, January 16 - Sun, January 17
MoPac Mixed Nationas Playdown: Sat, January 30 - Sun, January 31
We will hold an open board meeting on Thursday, July 16 at 6:30 pm in Fremont before curling. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend! We need lots of creative ideas and volunteer help to make sure this critical Olympic year is a success.
Topics will include:
- Oakland Curling
- Freezer purchase
- Stone reconditioning report
- Ongoing Lessons/Leagues
- MoPac representative for the upcoming year
- PR committee
- Splitting duties of Treasurer into Treasurer and Membership
- Board positions - including those that will need to be filled during the next round of elections
All are welcome and encouraged to attend a meeting about competitive curling on Wed, July 29 at 7:30 pm in Fremont.
