Michael Young - At-Large Board Candidate 2009

Michael Young has been a member of the SFBACC curling club since 2007. I've been the social committee chair for the past year and organized last year's 50th anniversary banquet and this past summer's BBQ. I was also an active member for the golden gate bonspeil. Michael has been curling for approximately 10 years, starting when he grew up in Alberta Canada - since joining the SFBACC, most of the time, he's curled in the Fremont leagues. I look forward to serving our club if elected.

Stacey MacNeil - At-Large Board Candidate 2009

Originally from Nova Scotia, my curling interest started quite a few years ago while living in New Brunswick, Canada. A friend of mine convinced me to go to an open house to try something different. At the time I thought – you’re kidding right? Growing up I had been exposed to just about every sport – except curling. Ice was for skating -- in fact, it was all about hockey. I thought … curling? Why would anyone want to do that?

Club Nationals in progress

Games for U.S. Club Nationals began on Sunday, March 8. The SFBACC is not represented, but one of our members, Gabrielle Coleman, is also a member of the Granite Curling Club in Seattle and is skipping a team from there. Members of their team are live blogging at http://www.teamcoleman.net/.

Updated scores and standings can be found at the Utica Club website, and a live webcast for the event can be found at moguls.com.
