Introduction to Curling Clinic Announced for Fall Season
The SFBACC will be holding a 2 hour class that covers the basics of curling on Tuesday, Sept 22 from 9 - 11:30 pm at Sharks Ice at San Jose. This is perfect for folks who are totally new to curling as well as those who are interested in a quick refresher. The class will cover the basics of the curling "delivery" (stone sliding) and sweeping - and participants will get to play a coached mini-game as time and space permit. After this class, you will be well prepared to play in a league. Cost: $10 for individuals, $30 for groups up to 4 people.
Congrats Oakland!
The first-ever curling event was held in Oakland yesterday. It was a corporate event with about 20 participants and 9 volunteers. (Thank you, volunteers!)
Details are still being worked out around league times in Oakland - but Wednesdays at 7:15 pm is one possible time. The cost will depend on the number of people in the league. Contact colleen@bayareacurling.com for more information.

Here's the letter from SFBACC President, Brent Halpenny:
Hello Bay Area Curlers,
MoPac will be hosting a USCA mini-conference and skills camp in Vacaville on October 10th & 11th. Many head office staff will be here. The USCA says we need a minimum of 20 people to make this successful. I'm thinking that our club can do that by itself, let's show the USCA why MoPac is the fastest growing region in the country.
The following activities are being planned.
